MLB 2015 All-Star Style – Best and Worst DressedBy Don Jose Luis

MLB All Star Games aren’t really known for men’s style, but this year was different. Some of these sluggers cleaned up well and knocked it out of the park. Others, however, simply dropped the ball. Here’s our style recap from the MLB All-Star game, roughly from best to worst dressed.

Surprise surprise! Pictured above, Washington Nationals superstar right fielder Bryce Harper, Las Vegas native and Stitched family, takes home best dressed of the 2015 All Star Game (and frankly, in the big leagues period). Harper wore a XXXX Collection Custom 1 of 1 sport coat with a sharp elbow patches separating it from any other. Bryce dressed it down with a heather grey crew neck, a simple with a pair of white AG pants, and a set of custom red suede Del Toro loafers.

Nelson Cruz #23

Nelson Cruz, Seattle Mariners outfielder, crushed a triple with this burgundy three piece suit, featuring a double breasted waist coat. Cruz paired this rich burgundy three piece suit with a navy blue silk tie to give it a nice pop accent. The no sock game with black patent loafers is a nice touch. Cruz gave Harper a run for his money, but comes in as our second best dressed All Star.

Dellin Betances #68

Dellin Betances, Yankees pitcher, looks fly for his MLB photo op! This dark plaid two piece suit, the fresh fade, and the burnished brown two-tone leather dress shoes contrast – and perfectly compliment the plaid. Dellin is re-living the Madmen days in this look and I’m not mad at him for it.

Andrew McCutchen #22

Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder, shows us how to rock a simple grey sport coat – with a lightweight white shirt, light pants, gray shoes – and by nailing the pocket square. Keep the pocket game strong Andrew!

Dallas Keuchel

Dallas Keuchel, Houston Astros pitcher, lets his beard do most of the talking. His sport coat features peak lapels and subtle tonal box check pattern, while the timepiece and ring accessorize nicely. Nice kicks too!

A.J Burnette

A.J Burnett, Pittsburg Pirates pitcher, is killing it on the field and off. Normally I don’t approve of waist coats without a suit jacket but Mr. Burnett makes it work by accessorizing a proper timepiece, silver bracelets, and a silk tie. Rolling up the sleeves to showcase his collection of tattoos was cool too.

Jose Altuve

Jose Altuve, Houston Astros second baseman, combines multiple blues in one look – a classic blue blazer, a light blue pin stripe dress shirt, a clean dark denim, and a pair of blue suede loafers. This could have worked, but the look was error-prone. A few suggestions: lift the collar, lift the pocket square, and keep the shirt cuffs showing no more than an inch or two max. Lots of potential, but needs help putting it all together.

Madison Bumgarner #40

Madison Bumgarner, Giants pitcher, gets an A for effort – but a C for style. He is just looking for to the photo op to end in an oversized shirt, white crew neck, and bootcut jeans. Nice crocodile boots though, very dandy.

Lorenzo Cain #6

Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Royals center fielder, is a prime example of what NOT to wear. Cain is killing us with this way-too-casual everyday plaid shirt and faded jeans. There’s always next year, Lorenzo.
